Interested in Dancing for the Lord?
The Sycamore Church is looking for 1,000 or more people interested in joining us as Dancers for Christ, representing people from around the city of Savannah for a single dance event to Celebrate Jesus Christ’s Resurrection and work in our lives.
What: Resurrection Dance Where: Forsyth Park, Savannah, GA When:Saturday, September 18, 2010, 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Our dance is in response to a YouTube video from a church in Budapest, Hungary. After seeing the video, the Lord placed the idea on our hearts to share in the excitement and try to reproduce the message and dance in that video right here in Savannah.
God gave us the desire to “answer them back” from Savannah. We thought God could use this effort to begin a celebration response all across the world. Indeed, as we have been planning our dance, we are seeing Internet chatter from churches in other cities planning responses also.
We want to include any
and all churches that claim the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Bringing together all people from all races and denominations helping to break down the walls that often separate our city.
If you would like to be a part of this effort, there are two options:
The church that made the video, taped the dance on April 4, 2010 as an Easter celebration, in a large city Hero's Square in Budapest, Hungary, where 1,300 people from their church joined in. The name of the church is Faith Church. Due to so much excitement across the world about this video, they have begun to establish a separate web site just to help and encourage people with the dance and to share Christ with others. That web site is still under construction. Here is the link: http://www.uptofaith.com/ . For more information about Faith Church in Budapest, Hungary, visit http://www.hit.hu/eng/index.html .
Ephesians 4:4-5
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called- one Lord, one faith, one baptism
